Libraries
“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.
– Jorge Luis Borges”
There is no greater satisfaction than opening up a book and losing yourself in it for hours. My mother would take my brother and me to the library at least weekly. I would walk between the shelves, running my fingers across the bindings, gazing over the titles and breathing the smell. The smell of a thousand worlds colliding into one single space, allowing me to travel expansive distances and creating new lands in my mind. I was lucky to have well funded libraries (thank you rich old ladies) near me, that provided not only for books, but great library architecture. What I mean by library architecture is that the building itself lended itself to the enjoyment of reading. The Burlingame library had a spiral staircase that would lead you to the 3rd floor and the “tower”. Here, within the tower, there was big leather chair that had the perfect “sag” to curl up in. It sat underneath a round window, allowing for natural light to peek over your shoulder and read alongside you.
The San Mateo library had a classic 1960s look to it-so nothing that great about it. But just enough frump to make it neat. The library has now been rebuilt and expanded. It is beautiful, but needs a couple more years to make it look more worn in
Here are some images of beautiful and/or interesting libraries. Public and private.

Married Life
Maple leaf and I got married!!!!! The wedding was wonderful, the weather was perfect, the food was great, the drinks flowed and we were surrounded by loved ones. What more could I ask for such a momentous day? I don’t even know how to begin describing the joy that follows the binding of two lives into one. I’ll try to write it out when I get better at it ![]()

my vows:
Paul, you love me freely and without prejudice. You provide me with refuge and counsel.
Everything is fun and true. I am continuously amazed at how lucky I am to have you in my life.
And I am SO unbelievably excited about our future.
I want to swim in all waters, and float in lazy pools with you.
“I want to travel with you to every sacred mountain,…
I want to reach for your hand as we scale the path/
to feel your arteries glowing in my clasp”
I want to face all of life’s struggles side by side
So with my all, my heart, my soul and no hesitation
“I give you my hand, I give you my love…. I give you myself before preaching or law”
I love you.

2nd batch
All right, finally finished my 2nd round of party favors. It took me a while because I had to attach the brown ribbon onto the sage ribbon then tie it all together. Overall, I am pretty happy with these.

Although I really liked the first round of party favors. They were tea bag holders (shaped like a tea pot) with tea in the middle, wrapped up in clear cellophane and tied off with a two toned sage ribbon.
Well, back to writing my vows.
Q’s newest Mosh Dish
Today we go vegan!
Q came up with a wonderful spicy dish.
In a sautee pan put in cubes of tofu and butter. Remember you want to toast the tofu to a lovely golden brown.
Next put in the cabbage kimichi, mock meat, garlic-salt, and pepper.
Sautee over a medium-high flame for 5 minutes.
Then cover and let simmer
The nose knows once this lovely dish is ready! Bon appetit!
We call this dish – “My Sassy Tofu bowl- NOT!”
why am I excited?
Because I just: got air in my bike tires, got the bike basket on -securely, got some yummy apples in the fridge for a later apple n’ peanut butter snack, did some work, and today is Sunday. Sunday means I get my tea, tea biscuits and masterpiece theater on. I’m such a bad ass it hurts to sit.
